Kits Lens Shooting at the American War Memorial Cemetery

Hi! If you're new here, please find time to view my Gallery. You may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting! :)

I just came back from Fort Bonifacio. I was with other people shooting inside the American War Memorial Cemetery today. It’s a short drive near Serendra and Bonifacio High Street, so If you want to shoot something different, do go there. ;)

American War Memorial0

(Ooh..I didn’t expect this place looks good for some picnic! :P hahahaha)

I was expecting that the weather today will be bad so I brought a jacket with me. It turns out that today is a really hot day, but then it was great to shoot with clear blue skies all afternoon. I did some, or rather a lot of infrared shots of the memorial but then I haven’t processed the pictures because it’s my first time to shoot that so I’ll reserve those for another post.I really got tired from all the shooting in the area and I think my skin got one shade darker because of the harsh sunlight this afternoon. :p

Here are some other shots I took using my Nikkor 18-55mm VR kit lens. You can view the whole set I took with my Nikon D60:

American War Memorial1

Is that a lens flare? :p

American War Memorial2

The small shrine (I forgot to sign the guest book! :P)

American War Memorial3

Last shot from the kit lens before I went home ;)

nikon’s kit lens rocks…unlike the crappy one from canon

Maki: Gotta love clear skies and the kit lens of mine! It’s not a wide angle one but you can just move back, bend, lay on your back on the grass to ge the shots :)

Maki: Thanks Tam! :) Canon can also produce vivid images with L lenses right? :D

wow! nice shots!
Did you use a polarizer?

Maki: nope, but a little correction can just do :)

Awesome colors! How did you get such vivid greens and blues without risking overexposure and without using filters?

Maki: A little touch-up using photoshop :). Subtle only since the skies were really clear and the grass on the area is really well-taken cared of ;)

Aha! *twiddles thumbs* I see… *rubs chin*
