Davao Food Tour: Café Andessa

Café Andessa as far as I remember is the place where we DFAT 09 bloggers got served with a lot of dishes from their menu. And by the time we were out of the restaurant, we were really stuffed. I’m only gonna feature a few of the many dishes served there, but I swear…they have great dishes on their menu along with a very cozy country-style interior and oh-so-good Iced Tea (sorry but I was really raving about their iced tea! It was really good!). 8-)

Baby Back Ribs at Cafe Andessa Davao City by Maki Eduardo

I guess I’m really into eating baby back ribs no matter how each restaurant we visited in Davao had them on the menu.  This one falls right off the bones.

Cafe Andessa Liempo by Maki Eduardo

Liempo

I love their Liempo even how redundant it tastes like other Liempo dishes from other establishments. It goes well with their in-house atchara.

Cafe Andessa Kinilaw by Maki Eduardo

Sinugba/ Kinilaw

It is only during this food appreciation your in Davao that I ate Kinilaw much to my existence and I can attest that Café Andessa has one of the best-tasting and richly served Kinilaw dish among others.

Turon Ala Mode

We had this as our dessert. Ice cream, chocolate shavings, and a really packed and evenly-sugarcoated turon. Yummmm…

Cafe Andessa Bicol Express Pasta by Maki Eduardo

Bicol Express Pasta

The Bicol Express Pasta was the one that left a great memory on my taste buds. I really never expected that it would really taste good and was uber-spicy much to the discreet look of the toppings on the pasta. I kept looking for bits and pieces of siling labuyo on this dish, but there wasn’t any. Maybe they got grinded and mixed with the sauce but there wasn’t much sauce to this dish. Hmm…but the bottomline is, I recommend ordering one when you go to Café Andessa! :D

Cafe Andessa Tuna with Ensiladang Mangga by Maki Eduardo

Pan Grilled Tuna with Burong Mangga

I loved tuna dishes in Davao, they’re all freshly served in big servings and they have that rich tuna belly taste. Café Andessa’s Pan Grilled Tuna makes you appreciate tuna more with how their pack the flavor and spices to their dish. Very juicy and rich in flavor along with sauteed garlic bits on the top. It even goes with Burong Mangga (Ensiladang Mangga in another way of characterizing it). Perfect dish for tuna lovers.
