Gardenia Bakeries Philippines Unveils 6K Plant

Gardenia 6K Plant Launch by Maki Eduardo

The country’s leading bread manufacturer yesterday opened their newest manufacturing plant in Laguna, with an increased capacity of 6,000 loaves of bread in a per-hour basis. The increased capacity will thereby produce an estimate of 150,000 loaves of bread per day!  I was just happy to be one of the privileged people to attend the launch and share the news. :-D

The newest plant addition aims to double the production capability of Gardenia Bakeries so that there will be more of their products at supermarket shelves. Other than meeting the goal of increasing production capacity, the company also took the production process a notch higher with the latest state-of-the-art plant equipments for a seamless production line. With the advanced technology of the newest plant, it only requires a limited number of employees to man the machines. I myself was in great awe in seeing humongous bread towers for the first time in my life within the 6K factory. (See the gallery of pictures during my plant tour below.)

Something to commend about Gardenia in producing their bread products is the consistency of how each is product made. One of the coolest facts I learned back during my college year was that all Gardenia products are untouched by human hands- from the transfer of raw materials up to the final product. Each batch of products even have to go through metal detectors in order to assure that they are safe to eat without unwanted elements. Products are also fresh and bromate-free…amazing. ;)
