It was already 7:00pm at Singapore and there was not even a sign of any drastic change of the sky as compared to an hour earlier when we finished setting up our tripods. The colors of the sky were faint and the setting sun was not visible on our area.

7:00pm
Around 15 to 20 minutes later, the sky started changing its colors. The color of the sky blending with the clouds was still faint during that time. What I did was just to push the exposure up and do some exposure bracketing on my shot:

Around 7:15-7:20pm
I really pushed the exposure too hard and the post-processing made my image heavy with noise. On the other hand, I still appreciate the photo above, it’s a reminder of how I can still improve shooting a sunset with exposure bracketing.
Not too long after I did shoot the previous photo, the sky went dark. Everything else was a silhouette:

7:25-7:30pm
My friend told me that it’s just normal to encounter a late sunset in Singapore since it is located at the upper part of the Equator. I still call the experience I had “The Weirdest Sunset”, but same as other sunsets that I did shot…it was something magical.
i am in awe of the shots \m/
nice spot.
ang ganda ng around 7:15-7:20pm na pic… wooooooot!
nice shots. kailangan lang talaga ng tyaga waiting for the perfect moment and making adjustments
Ming said it was coming it was coming, and then it never arrived. WTH! haha… I took the same shots Maki, I’ll post them but I don’t like them. My other HDRs look better. But I like the first HDR though, very surreal feel.
Thanks for appreciating the shots guys. Haha, I really had a fun experience shooting with the people in Singapore with the sunset. We were all just on the wrong side of Singapore to take it.

I barely do HDR…reason why one picture was pixelated, but I really like the surreal feel of the pictures. I’m glad you liked them.
